Every year, Sheffield holds a food festival where local and national produce traders and growers can showcase their wares and demonstrate what can be made with them. This year, I was tasked in adding a new level of hierarchy to the already existing identity due to the fact that this years was the biggest food festival Sheffield has ever seen. This involved restructuring the logo, creating a new design style and producing all the collateral for the bank holiday event. The theme for this year’s festival was ‘Taste Moor…’ to tie in with the new location for the festival on The Moor. A new lockup incorporating this was produced which used a handwritten logotype to contrast the solidarity of the existing food festival lockup.
The graphic style was heavily black and white photography with a flexible grid to lay typography and sponsor information over the top. Colours were generated through sampling of colour versions of photography used to create a varied colour palette. Colateral produced included; application guidelines for other parties involved with rollout, festival programme, window vinyls, banner flags, newspaper and magazine adverts, assets for online usage and other pieces of printed collateral for the weekend.
